Q1. CAN I REDIRECT MULITPLE INCOMES TO MY ACCOUNT?

Yes. You can redirect wages, income support or family tax credits to your Account.

Q2. CAN I PAY FOR A BILL THAT IS NOT IN MY NAME?

Yes, but you still need to provide a recent copy of this bill. If you want the future bills to come to ClearDebt then the account holder will need to update the billing address to be: c/- ClearDebt, PO Box 72-038, Papakura 2244

Q3. WHY REDIRECT THE WHOLE OF MY INCOME TO MY ACCOUNT?

With a Managed Account, we can adjust your payments based on your on-going monthly usage for utilities like power, gas and phone to ensure that you meet the payment due date in order to benefit from prompt payment discounts. If you are redirecting the whole of your income to your Account, you can either request the whole of the balance or a fixed living allowance to be sent to your every day Bank Account each pay period.

Q4. WHAT BILLS CAN I PAY FROM MY ACCOUNT?

Rent, Utilities, Credit Cards, Farmers Card, GE CreditLine, Q Card, Rental Goods, Clothes Trucks, Kiwisaver, Medical Costs, Pharmacy, Debt Collection Agencies, Rates, Lawns, School Fees etc. In fact you can set up regular payments to anyone that will let you pay by bill payment. Remember, to cancel any APs or DDs set up on your every day Bank Account to prevent double payment or going overdrawn.

Q5. CAN I SET UP A DIRECT DEBIT?

No, you are not a signatory to the ClearDebt Trust Account so you do not have the authority to initiate Direct Debits on your Account. Almost all creditors accept payment by direct credit but there are a few exceptions like insurance companies that may insist you pay your premiums by Direct Debit from your own every day Bank Account.

Q6. CAN I MAKE CHANGES TO MY ACCOUNT?

Yes, you can request changes to your Account at any time up to 5pm the day before your bills are paid. E.g. If your wages are paid to your Account on a Tuesday, the deadline for changes to your Account is 5pm Monday.
